Main duties of the job
- As a Team Nurse, you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality clinical nursing care to meet the diverse individual needs of the children and young people.
- You will have experience in clinical nursing assessment, planning and delivering care which will be evidence based in conjunction with Julia's House policies and procedures to deliver safe care to children and young people with complex needs that will often change.
- You will have the confidence to use your clinical judgement and make autonomous decisions about nursing care requirements.
- Team Nurses participate in our on call rota system providing telephone advice for staff and families.
- You will have day-to-day management of the client base, including the deployment, supervision and teaching of Care Team members.
- You will also have the opportunity to broaden your skills with excellent training and development.

Julia's House is an award-winning children's hospice charity dedicated to bringing comfort and care to families across the two counties. Each family we support is unique and so is the care we provide. When a family finds out that their child has a very serious medical condition, which is life-limiting or life-threatening, their world falls apart. Julia's House exists to help these children and their families.
Job responsibilities
- As part of the Nursing Team, working in line with Julia's House policies and procedures, provide family centered respite care both in the Hospice and Community for children who have life limiting and life threatening conditions.
- When necessary, provide a flexible and responsive approach to support the requirements of end of life care.
- Role model Julia's House Values and Behaviours at all times.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Registered Sick Children's Nurse or Registered Nurse (Child Branch) Diploma or Degree
- Registered Learning Disability Nurse
- RGN or RN Adult
- Two years relevant post-qualification experience at Band 5 or above
- Counselling training and/or care of the dying and bereaved course or experience
- ENB 998 or equivalent teaching and assessing course
- Safeguarding Awareness Level 3
Experience
- Experience of caring for and working alongside families in their own environment
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Understanding of equal opportunities
- Experience of working with children who have life limiting/life threatening conditions
- Experience of working with children who have complex medical needs
- Experience of leading a skill-mix team with support from senior staff
