Main duties of the job:
- The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with complex needs.
- You will have the ability to work both in a team and independently and work using your own initiative.
- Nursing Associates have the opportunity to spend time with the children and their families, developing strong relationships and meeting their individual needs.
- You will be based at our Dorset Hospice and our Wimborne Care Office and work across Dorset in the homes of the children we look after.
- Flexibility is required to cover days, evenings, weekends, school holidays and occasional overnights.
- This role is a 28 hours per week maternity cover contract.
Job responsibilities:
- As part of the Nursing Team, working in line with Julias House policies and procedures, provide family centered respite care both in the Hospice and Community for children who have life limiting and life threatening conditions.
- Work effectively in a team within the boundaries of the nursing associate role.
- Identify and acknowledge the need for escalation to a qualified nurse in all circumstances.
- When necessary, provide a flexible and responsive approach to support the requirements of end of life care.
- Role model Julias House Values and Behaviours at all times.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Applicants for this role must be a Registered Nurses Associate.
- Experience: Applicants must have experience of working with sick children and their families.
