Role: Hub Volunteer – English Conversation Classes

Hours: 2 hours – ideally on a Friday.
Location: Kingswood, Bristol

The Role
We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to lead English Conversation Classes within our Refugee Resettlement Scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by helping refugees build confidence in speaking English and supporting their integration into the community!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate casual conversations and activities to help improve participants\’ spoken English.
  • Encourage cultural exchange and foster mutual understanding.
  • Support language skill development through practical conversation practice.
  • Provide guidance on everyday communication, from small talk to essential daily interactions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • A passion for supporting refugees and promoting inclusivity.
  • No formal teaching experience needed—training and support will be provided.
  • We especially encourage applications from individuals with lived experience.
