Julian House is a charity dedicated to making a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. We run several projects and every year we help thousands of people out of homelessness, into employment, away from domestic abuse, and more.

Salary: £13,459 (FTE £25,235)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Contract type: Fixed-Term Contract till end of December 2025
Location: Wiltshire

Additional information:
On-call (1 in 4 weeks), £100/week when on-call

The Role:

  • Ensuring a high standard of housing management across 3 properties.
  • Minimising voids and maintaining rent and service accounts effectively.
  • Collaborating closely with the refuge team to address rent arrears and charges.
  • Supporting SMART payment plans which work towards savings and good financial management.
  • Working with other teams and external agencies as needed for efficient information sharing.
  • Attending internal meetings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the refuge accommodation to a high standard in accordance with Julian House policies and procedures, particularly regarding Health and Safety.
  • Preparing rooms for intakes quickly and efficiently.
  • Keeping residents informed of the balances on their rent and service charge accounts.
  • Participating in team meetings to share updated knowledge on welfare benefits or related subjects.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel to work.
  • Has the courage and commitment to challenge bias or discrimination that impacts the client group.
  • Understanding of the causes of Domestic Abuse and social exclusion.
  • Understanding of Benefits and Housing Benefits system.
