Growing from a small family run business we were acquired by Storskogen Group AB in 2021 which allowed us to invest in our infrastructure. We are now seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to continue our growth with new customers. This is a pivotal role within a dynamic and growing business, working closely with the CEO and senior management.

The Role

You will combine your sales drive and customer service focus to unlock incremental growth channels for Julian Bowen. Using your existing network, as well as a tenacious appetite to open doors, you will bring on board new partners. These partners will be selling across stores, online, and into the Contract market.

You will report directly to the CEO and be a visible person in the business, working closely with senior stakeholders and across all key functions. Externally, you will be the face of Julian Bowen for many of our customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define a target list of priority customers
  • Implement structured pipeline management
  • Prospect, tender and close commercial deals. This includes preparing customer specific proposals, selecting product ranges from our product portfolio and pricing matrix
  • Manage onboarding of new customers
  • Nurture and sustainably grow your customer accounts
  • Monitor and report against KPIs
  • Represent Julian Bowen at trade shows, industry events & sector forums
  • Work closely with senior management on sales strategy
  • Work closely with key internal teams eg marketing, supply, operations to ensure best in class customer experience
  • Regular feedback on customer and product opportunities

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ B2B experience in sales, business development, and/or account management
  • Strong existing network with the UK furniture industry. B2B selling to Retailers required. Working with Contract market will be relevant but not a requirement
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels
  • Commercial gravitas
