At JULABO we offer the best comprehensive support to all our clients and users within a wide range of industries from chemical synthesis, automotive, food, pharmacy and temperature calibration. The Support Engineer is a key customer facing part of this approach. The role is a mix between office and field based and requires great interpersonal skills and flexibility:
- Installation and commissioning of units at clients’ sites
- Training of operators and supporting them with applications, setup and automation/computer control on site
- Preventative maintenance, calibration and service
- Advising customers on technical issues and fault diagnosis
- Including part numbers/pricing on the phone and via e-mail
- Modification and upgrades of JULABO equipment
- Compiling method statements and risk assessments for the workshop and onsite visits
- Ensuring demo units are in working order; assisting with loading and unloading
- Following up leads from sales teams with regards to support service and repairs
- Identifying potential leads at site and briefing the appropriate sales team member to follow up
Qualification and experience in maintenance, support and installation of sophisticated electro-mechanical systems. Background in temperature control, heat transfer and refrigeration would be useful. An ability to learn, great communication skills, knowledge of PLC programming and industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, Ethernet/IP), office IT systems, including Word, email etc. and willingness to travel/overnight stays.
