Are you an experienced legal secretary who enjoys supporting multiple fee earners in a fast-paced environment? Do you take pride in delivering a high standard of client service and administrative support? We’re looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support within a specialist team, while also supporting the wider department when needed. You will be based full-time in the Bath office. This is a varied, hands-on role where excellent client service, organisation and dictation and typing are essential.
DAY TO DAY
- Providing full legal secretarial support to multiple fee earners, including proactive diary management
- Producing correspondence and legal documents using case management and IT systems
- Formatting, proofreading and correcting documents
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and third parties by phone, email and in person
- Managing electronic and paper files, including file opening, archiving and retrieval
- Monitoring email, voicemail and post for fee earners
- Supporting client matters by chasing outstanding actions
- Preparing forms and documentation, including client onboarding and compliance procedures
- Drafting bills, processing disbursements and supporting account-related tasks under instruction
- Audio and copy typing as required
WHAT WE’D LOVE TO SEE
- Previous secretarial experience within a professional services or legal environment
- Experience with dictation and typing
- Excellent written English and strong attention to detail
- Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues at all levels
- A clear understanding of confidentiality and professionalism
- The ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A proactive, flexible team player who enjoys supporting others and pitching in when needed
- Someone who can work in the office full-time
