This newly focused role offers the chance to influence strategic decision‑making, lead impactful projects and engage colleagues across the organisation to create lasting environmental change.

Day to Day:

As Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of the organisation's Sustainability Strategy, ensuring sustainability is embedded across operations, education, estates and service delivery. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across the business, you'll act as the organisation's sustainability specialist, driving environmental improvements, supporting compliance and delivering measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing and monitoring the organisation's Sustainability Strategy
  • Leading the creation and delivery of a Carbon Management Plan
  • Monitoring and reporting on energy consumption, carbon emissions and environmental performance
  • Identifying and delivering carbon reduction initiatives across multiple sites
  • Supporting waste reduction, recycling programmes and circular economy initiatives
  • Promoting biodiversity and sustainable travel projects
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to embed sustainability into everyday practices
  • Engaging colleagues and service users in sustainability initiatives and behaviour change programmes
  • Supporting sustainability groups and awareness campaigns across the organisation
  • Identifying funding opportunities and preparing business cases for sustainability projects
  • Developing partnerships with external organisations to drive innovation and share best practice
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and keeping abreast of emerging sustainability trends

What We'd Love To See:

We're looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable sustainability professional who can inspire others and drive meaningful change across a complex organisation. To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  • Experience delivering sustainability, environmental or ESG programmes
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience analysing, interpreting and reporting environmental data
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to influence positive change at all levels of an organisation
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and sustainability best practice
  • A degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience in Sustainability, Environmental Science or a related discipline
  • Flexibility to travel and work across multiple sites when required
