Juice Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly regarded luxury business to recruit a talented Copywriter to join their Commerce Marketing team at The Newt in Somerset. This role is central to how the brand is experienced, acting as the voice of the food, drink and gifting business across all channels. You will craft inspiring, beautiful and commercially effective copy that brings products, provenance and craftsmanship to life, while supporting brand growth and revenue. This is a fantastic opportunity for a brand-led, detail-driven writer to work within a premium environment where storytelling, quality and consistency truly matter. The Day to Day:
- As Copywriter, you will partner closely with marketing and product teams to shape clear, compelling and consistent storytelling across digital, retail and campaign channels.
- You will own and protect the brand’s tone of voice, ensuring every piece of copy enhances customer connection, communicates value and supports commercial objectives across food, drink and gifting categories.
Brand voice & storytelling
- Develop and deliver a distinctive, brand-building tone of voice that reinforces The Newt’s positioning across food, drink and gifting.
- Act as a guardian of brand tone of voice, ensuring consistency, clarity and quality across all written communications.
- Craft engaging product stories that inform, inspire and drive conversion.
Product & packaging copy
- Write and refine product and packaging copy including:
- Product names
- Labels, sleeves, tags, bags and inserts
- Ensure all copy is clear, compliant and aligned with brand standards.
Multi-channel copywriting
- Create compelling content across:
- Website and eCommerce product pages
- Email marketing and CRM journeys
- Organic and paid social media
- PPC and display advertising
- Print materials and in-store communications
- You will tailor messaging to suit each channel, balancing editorial creativity with commercial performance and best practice.
Campaigns & commercial delivery
- Produce seasonal and sales-focused copy, optimised for SEO where appropriate.
- Align content delivery with the marketing content calendar.
- Clearly articulate reasons to buy, highlighting provenance, quality and craftsmanship.
- Support wider marketing and product initiatives with ad hoc copywriting as required.
Quality & optimisation
- Proofread and edit all copy to ensure accuracy, polish and consistency.
- Adapt messaging for different customer segments and lifecycle stages.
- Use insight and performance feedback to refine and improve content over time.
What you’ll bring:
- Strong professional copywriting experience, ideally within premium retail, food, drink, gifting or lifestyle brands.
- Exceptional written English with impeccable grammar, spelling and vocabulary.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain a consistent brand tone of voice.
- Experience writing high-performing commercial content that drives engagement and action.
- Multi-channel copywriting experience including:
- Product pages and eCommerce
- Email/CRM
- Social media
- Print and campaign materials
- Experience writing packaging copy, product descriptions, labels or in-store materials.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
- Strong time management and ability to work independently.
- SEO copywriting experience (keywords, metadata, optimisation).
- Confidence interpreting performance metrics (CTR, engagement, conversion, SEO rankings).
- Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Shopify, WordPress or Magento.
- Experience contributing to tone of voice guidelines.
- Understanding of UX writing and customer journey messaging.
- Interest in food provenance, craft, agriculture, lifestyle or hospitality.
