Are you experienced in credit control assistant / book-keeper looking for a rewarding role in a friendly accountancy firm? Do you like a broad and varied role and working within the heart of a business? We’re recruiting a permanent Finance Assistant/Bookkeeper for our client based in Bath. In this key position, you'll be responsible for managing the company’s bookkeeping, credit control and reconciliation duties within a supportive team environment. This role offers a great opportunity to utilise your finance skills in a varied role, working closely with Directors and the admin team to keep the Accounts department running smoothly. The team is well-established with a reputable and solid client base and you will be joining an established team.
DAY TO DAY:
- Ensuring accurate time and expense recording, posting transactions onto Xero, reconciling accounts and managing client payments
- Working with admin team to ensure invoices and statements are sent to clients each month
- Supporting month-end processes
- Completion of quarterly VAT returns
- Posting purchase invoices on to Xero
- Reconciliation of bank accounts on Xero
- Assisting with preparation of month end management accounts to final stage for FD to review
- Credit control duties to include overseeing statement production and chasing clients for payments and overseeing collection of outstanding debt
WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE:
- Preferably AAT qualified or extensive experience in a similar role
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance, especially credit control
- Good knowledge of Xero and familiarity with bank reconciliations
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with payroll journals and managing client accounts is desirable
