Juice Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an exciting and ambitious Gloucestershire-based food manufacturer in their search for a Production Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded, hands-on leader to take ownership of day-to-day production operations, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in the next stage of the company's growth journey.

Working as part of the senior leadership team, you'll be responsible for leading production, managing people, maintaining the highest quality and food safety standards, and ensuring operational efficiency across the business.

The Role As Production Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the smooth running of production and operational activities, ensuring products are delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest standard.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading, motivating and developing the production team
  • Managing recruitment, training and performance reviews
  • Planning production schedules to meet customer demand
  • Driving efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Reviewing workflows, processes and equipment utilisation
  • Maintaining HACCP, COSHH, Health & Safety and food safety compliance
  • Overseeing quality control and product consistency
  • Managing supplier relationships and negotiating costs where appropriate
  • Monitoring margins, costs and operational performance
  • Maintaining accurate product specifications, allergen information and recipe costings
  • Supporting new product development activities
  • Rolling up your sleeves and supporting production when required

About You We're looking for an experienced production professional who combines strong operational expertise with an engaging and supportive leadership style. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within food production, bakery, confectionery or FMCG manufacturing
  • Proven leadership and people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety and compliance requirements
  • Experience improving operational processes and efficiencies
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of margins and costs
  • Confidence using spreadsheets, production systems and digital reporting tools
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • A full UK driving licence
