We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead a thriving 40+ bedroom hotel operating at the heart of Scotland’s north coastal community. This is a classic seasonal operation – intensely hands-on through the winter peak, shifting to strategic planning, recruitment, training, and team-building during the quieter summer months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full operational leadership of the hotel, including 40+ bedrooms, restaurant, bar, and function facilities.
  • Managing high-volume tour groups, weddings, small parties, and consistent local trade.
  • Driving revenue, controlling costs, and delivering exceptional guest experiences year-round.
  • Hands-on involvement in daily operations during peak winter season.
  • Forward-planning in summer: recruitment, staff training, menu development, marketing initiatives, and maintenance scheduling.

Essential Experience

  • Proven track record as a General Manager (or senior deputy ready to step up) in a busy, seasonal hotel with 40+ bedrooms.
  • Direct experience handling tour groups, weddings/functions, and strong local trade.
  • Strong financial acumen, staff leadership, and the ability to thrive in both high-pressure operational periods and strategic off-season planning.

We would consider a management couple with complementary skills to share the role and live-in accommodation. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a characterful, high-volume hotel in a stunning location. If you have the energy, experience, and vision to lead a seasonal operation through its peaks and preparations, we want to hear from you.
