- Promote additional services and initiatives, including programmes such as Future Teachers, where they can add value to schools.
About the Role
As Business Development Manager, you'll focus on developing relationships within our existing Catholic school accounts, helping to increase engagement with Supporting Education Group's recruitment and education services while identifying new opportunities for growth.
You’ll engage directly with schools, build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, gather valuable market insight, and help schools maximise the benefits of partnering with Supporting Education Group. Working closely with our Recruitment & Supply businesses, you’ll play an important role in strengthening existing partnerships and supporting sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth
- Drive increased engagement and service usage across existing Catholic school accounts.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and gross profit within current client partnerships.
- Work closely with Recruitment Consultants, Branch Managers and Operations Managers to develop and achieve growth targets.
- Support branch teams in converting schools into active users of Supporting Education Group's recruitment services.
- Build relationships with schools through proactive outreach by phone, online and in person.
- Develop a strong understanding of each school's recruitment needs, current suppliers and decision‑making processes.
- Position Supporting Education Group as the trusted partner of choice for recruitment and wider education services.

Relationship Management
- Develop strong, long‑term relationships with school leaders and key stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with branch teams to increase school engagement, satisfaction and loyalty.
- Support schools in making the most of their partnership with Supporting Education Group by identifying opportunities to meet their evolving needs.
Market Intelligence
- Gather insights on Catholic schools and Multi Academy Trusts (MATs) to identify opportunities for growth.
- Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to strengthen our presence within the sector.
- Share market intelligence, trends and school feedback with the Head of Catholic Education to support future planning and business development activity.
Collaboration
- Partner with Recruitment Consultants, Branch Managers and Operations Managers to ensure business development activity is aligned across the business.
- Support targeted outreach campaigns and initiatives designed to grow existing accounts and win new opportunities.
- Attend regular meetings with the Head of Catholic Education, providing updates on school engagement, market trends and opportunities for growth.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in business development, sales, account management, or relationship management.
- Confident building relationships and initiating conversations with senior stakeholders.
- Commercially minded, with a focus on growth and delivering results.
- An excellent communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Organised, proactive, and self‑motivated.
- Able to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
- Passionate about education and making a positive impact in schools.
Experience or knowledge of the education sector, would be advantageous, but is not essential.
