About the job
- Produce monthly management accounts, reports and variance analysis, highlighting key trends and business drivers
- Support period-end close processes, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity
- Support with financial and DfE audit queries and producing schedules
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives
- Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and cost control
- Communicate complex financial information in a clear and actionable way to non-finance stakeholders
- Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to streamline reporting and analysis
- Support transactional finance team on an ad-hoc basis as required
- Other tasks as may be required from time to time
About you
- Newly Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Commercially astute, with the ability to link financial performance to business outcomes
- Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with financial systems
- A self-starter with curiosity, initiative, and a drive for continuous improvement
- Be reliable, hardworking and professional with at least two years’ experience of working in a fast-paced finance team, ideally in a management accounting type role
- Able to build and demonstrate strong working relationships and good communication skills at all levels, both with internal and external stakeholders
- Have the ability to organise, plan and prioritise time and tasks effectively whilst meeting the needs of multiple stakeholders
- Work well under pressure, dealing with issues as they arise and meet agreed deadlines
- Demonstrate accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work on own and prioritise tasks with others, attention to ensuring service delivery excellence
- Actively seeks out opportunities, for breadth and depth of individual development and building better knowledge of the business
