We are looking for Professionals or experienced School Clerk / Governance Professionals in the London area to join our established and respected countrywide team. The role is home-based and allows for flexibility. There is a requirement to attend schools for onsite meetings and the occasional Head Office meeting. Our clerks are fully supported and provided with regular briefing and exclusive training sessions.
Key Accountabilities- Attend virtual or onsite meetings to support Governing bodies, arrange meetings, create agendas, and prepare accurate minutes with timescales for actions.
- Provide procedural, regulatory, and governance advice to governing bodies at meetings and as and when appropriate.
- Able to work closely and cooperatively with people, including Volunteers, Chairs and Senior School management.
- Working effectively to meet deadlines.
- Carry out research from a variety of sources and provide accurate advice.
- Understand and adhere to confidentiality and integrity.
If you can demonstrate the following, we would love to hear from you:
- Experienced in strong customer service and communication skills and with a high-level problem-solving skill.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work unsupervised with good listening, oral and literacy skills and a previous experience of accurate and well-presented agenda writing and minute taking.
- Ability to attend the office and meetings (online & in person) at times convenient to the governing body, typically early evening, although they can be during the day.
- Ability and willingness to undertake continuing professional development training.
- Must be computer literate, especially MS Word and Outlook.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the education sector is desirable.

We offer:
- P/T permanent employment commencing at £17 per hour plus a monthly administration fee.
- Generous annual leave allowance of 36 days (28+8 bank holidays) +1 for every year of service (up to a maximum of 5 days).
