We are looking for a Paralegal to join our Claims & Enforcement team in Bromley, supporting the delivery of a high‑quality debt recovery service to our clients. This role is suited to someone with proven experience in debt recovery litigation, who is confident managing cases end‑to‑end and advising clients on enforcement strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- You will take ownership of your own caseload, progressing matters from instruction through to enforcement, ensuring all activity is delivered efficiently and in line with client service level agreements.
- Managing an allocated caseload of debt recovery files.
- Issuing court proceedings and preparing the necessary legal documentation.
- Progressing matters post‑judgment through enforcement action, including:
- Warrants and attachment of earnings
- Charging orders
- Liaising with High Court Enforcement Officers
- Preparing instructions for Counsel and supporting hearing preparation.
- Advising clients on enforcement options to maximise recovery in a cost‑effective manner.
- Dealing with routine court applications, including amendments, lifting stays, and changes to parties.
- Negotiating and managing payment arrangements in line with client SLAs.
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring key dates and deadlines are met.
- Communicating effectively with clients, courts, and third parties to progress matters.
- Supporting Account Managers with legal queries relating to court process and liability.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- You will be confident, organised, and able to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
- You will have at least 1 year’s experience within a debt recovery or litigation paralegal role.
- Experience issuing claims and handling enforcement of judgments.
- A strong understanding of court procedures and debt recovery processes.
- Experience using case management systems.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and third parties.
- Professional, confident approach with clients and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
