We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Executive to manage and grow a territory of independent specialty boutiques for a high-end women’s apparel brand. This role is responsible for building strong partnerships with boutique buyers, driving seasonal sales, achieving quarterly plans, prospecting new accounts, and expanding the brand’s presence within the specialty retail channel. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the contemporary/bridge fashion market, established relationships with boutique retailers, and a proven ability to generate and grow wholesale business.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and grow a defined territory of independent specialty boutique accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with boutique owners and buyers to drive seasonal sales and long-term brand loyalty.
- Present and sell seasonal collections through in-person appointments, virtual showings, tradeshows, store visits, trunk shows and showroom appointments.
- Travel regularly within the territory to visit stores, prospect new accounts, and support existing partners.
- Represent the brand at industry trade shows and key markets.
- Host and support in-store events, trunk shows, and promotional activations with retail partners.
- Identify and open new specialty accounts that align with the brand’s positioning and distribution strategy.
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
- Manage seasonal order writing, reorders, and follow-up with accounts to maximize in-season opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams including merchandising, marketing, and operations to ensure orders are fulfilled and the necessary tools are acquired to maximize sales.
- Maintain regular reporting on territory performance, forecasts, and account development.
- 3–8+ years of experience in wholesale sales within the women’s apparel industry, preferably in the contemporary or bridge category.
- Strong network of independent specialty boutique buyers is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding wholesale sales targets.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage a territory, and prioritize multiple accounts.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the territory, including store visits, trade shows, markets, and in-store events.
- Passion for fashion, retail trends, and delivering exceptional service to retail partners.
- Proficiency in Excel a plus.
- Regular road travel to visit stores within the territory.
- Participation in key industry trade shows and market weeks.
- Planning, execution, and attendance of trunk shows and in-store retail events with key partners.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. Salary and bonus structure will depend on the candidate’s level of experience, depth of industry knowledge, and existing relationships with specialty boutique buyers. The compensation package may include:
