Responsibilities of Sous Chef Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Lead and motivate the kitchen team during busy services
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to a consistently high standard
Work with fresh, seasonal ingredients
Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
Manage stock, ordering and minimise food waste
Train and develop junior chefs
Ensure the kitchen remains organised and efficient throughout service
Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chefs absence
About You Were looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef who enjoys working in a busy, food-led environment.
Youll ideally have:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
A background in gastro pubs, restaurants or quality-led kitchens
A genuine passion for fresh, seasonal food
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety
The ability to lead a team and remain calm under pressure
Excellent attention to detail and high standards
A hands-on approach and positive attitude
