A fantastic Live In Sous Chef job in Scotland (Isle of Skye), paying a package of around £43,000 has become available for a highly regarded waterfront restaurant on the Isle of Skye. Now entering its third year, the business has shown substantial growth year on year and we are looking for someone who can continue pushing the restaurant forward creatively and operationally.

This role would suit a strong Sous Chef within a quality-led restaurant, who has the ambition and drive to make their mark on this excellent venue. The role also offers direct mentorship from Paul Green, who has worked alongside some of the UK’s most acclaimed chefs and gained experience in two- and three-Michelin-starred restaurants internationally.

Highlights:

  • Salary of £38,000 plus excellent tronc around £4,000 - £6,000 (Package around £43,000).
  • Contracted to 41 hours per week with overtime paid or taken back in lieu.
  • Private accommodation available for £300 per month inclusive of all bills (Wi-Fi, council tax, electricity, gas etc).
  • Christmas and New Year OFF as the restaurant closes from approximately 20th December to 20th January.
  • 28 days holiday, increasing by one additional day per year of service, up to 31 days.

As Sous Chef, you will lead the overall culinary direction of the restaurant, creating and developing seasonal menus while delivering exceptional à la carte, tasting, and private dining experiences with the guidance from the Head Chef at the main venue nearby. The role combines hands-on kitchen leadership with responsibility for maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and creativity, alongside effective team management, stock control, food cost performance, and day-to-day kitchen operations.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Sous Chef experience in a fast paced, quality-led restaurant.
  • Full driving license is essential.
  • Part of the role includes collecting fresh seafood from local suppliers using a company van.
