- Leverage analytics tools (e.g. user behavior tracking) to inform design decisions and measure impact
- Create and validate design concepts through user flows, personas, experience maps, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
- Develop and maintain a modular Figma design system, including documentation and usage guidelines, to ensure consistency
- Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure accurate and high-quality design implementation and resolve design/development trade-offs
- Craft clear, concise microcopy, including navigation labels, error states, and tooltips to support usability and tone consistency
- Communicate design rationale and present work to various stakeholders
- Stay current on UX/UI trends, tools, and best practices
Need-to-have
- 7+ years designing B2B, data-rich technical products; first/solo design hire or founding designer experience preferred
- Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design work, with emphasis on usability, visual design excellence, and measurable outcomes
- Experience instrumenting PostHog (or equivalent), defining an event taxonomy, building funnels/cohorts, and using insights to inform design while respecting user privacy.
- Advanced skills in Figma (prototyping, component libraries) and familiarity with other design/wireframing tools
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design tools and the ability to prompt, evaluate, and refine outputs into production-ready designs
- Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and design systems
- Excellent collaboration skills and proven ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with confidence in presenting to diverse stakeholders
Nice-to-have
- Basic front-end development knowledge (TypeScript, React & Tailwind)
- Experience designing for complex or data-rich applications
What\βs in it for you
- Own and ship fast. Work in a product culture where engineers drive decisions, move from idea to production quickly, and see their impact in days, not quarters.
- Join a mission-driven company. Apply cutting-edge ML to global climate and energy challenges, an impact-first alternative to profit-only tech or finance roles.
- Work on groundbreaking technology. Be at the forefront of weather forecasting and machine learning, contributing to innovations that push boundaries.
- Collaborate in a high-agency team. Pair with experienced engineers and researchers in a hybrid environment that balances flexibility with in-person work.
- Shape a meaningful industry. Build solutions for the energy-trading sector, using AI to drive real-world change and influence the future of global markets.
