Global Supply Chain Supervisor

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will play a key role in delivering efficient, end-to‑to-end order management across international supply chains. You will combine operational coordination with commercial oversight, ensuring a high level of customer service while helping to minimise cost, risk and delivery delays.

You will work closely with sales, accounts, logistics, customers, suppliers and agents, providing accurate operational and commercial information and proactively resolving issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full order lifecycle from procurement through to delivery.
• Manage customer orders, sales orders, bookings and shipment processes.
• Allocate supply across sales orders to support effective fulfilment and margins.
• Coordinate bookings with shipping lines, freight forwarders and third‑party logistics providers.
• Monitor shipments globally and ensure delivery expectations are met.
• Coordinate collection schedules and maintain accurate shipment and vessel information.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, agents and logistics partners.
• Provide high‑quality operational and commercial support to the sales team.
• Monitor order profitability, contribution and overall trading position.
• Source and negotiate improved freight rates where possible to optimise margin.
• Maintain and update deep‑sea and European freight rate information.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies relating to rates, weights, quality claims and other operational issues.
• Monitor commercial exposure, credit position and operational risk.
• Produce regular reporting covering tonnage, contribution, order performance and shipment activity.
• Provide insight and recommendations to improve business performance.
• Oversee and allocate tasks within the export desk and support effective team performance.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially aware, proactive and highly organised, with the confidence to take ownership and make decisions in a busy international trading environment.

• Experience in commercial operations, order management, supply chain, logistics or a related operational role.
• Ideally, experience within road or sea freight, shipping or international logistics.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of profitability, margin and risk.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.
• Confidence working with operational and commercial data.
• Strong systems aptitude; experience with Cietrade or a similar order management system would be advantageous.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
