JTP is an award-winning placemaking practice of architects and masterplanners. From our studios in London and Bristol, we undertake placemaking projects at every scale, from cities and towns to neighbourhoods, streets, and the design of individual buildings.
Our London Studio is seeking a talented and motivated Urban Designer to contribute to a number of exciting and high-profile visioning and masterplanning projects for new towns, neighbourhoods, and garden communities within the UK. With a passion for collaboration and the creation of sustainable and biodiverse places, the ideal candidate will have solid, demonstrable experience of working on large-scale urban design and masterplanning projects across a range of residential densities, and will be familiar with the progression of projects from vision development and masterplanning through to the preparation of design codes, regulatory plans, and detailed neighbourhood layouts.
The successful candidate will be a confident and proactive urban designer with a proven ability to play a meaningful role within project teams and in building positive relationships with clients, consultants, and local communities. The ideal candidate will have excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills and be proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, CAD, and hand-drawing. A postgraduate qualification in urban design is essential for this role, and a background in architecture is advantageous.
