Job Purpose: Responsible for the provision of a high‑quality assessment and support service within an agreed area in support of the Regional Business Plan including the effective management of apprentice caseloads.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Work with all employers to source appropriate new apprentice placements and book college places, ensuring at the point of recruitment employers are fully aware of their responsibilities and JTL assessment requirements.
- Collaborate with schools and careers services to promote the career opportunities provided by JTL as appropriate to the audience.
- Carry out apprentice reviews and validate skills gap analyses to ensure initial assessments are accurate and the candidate is registered on the correct pathway.
- Ensure pre‑placement vetting for new and existing employers is completed in line with JTL procedures.
- Follow policy related to safeguarding and Prevent and report concerns promptly using the correct process.
- Carry out assessment of evidence against National Occupational Standards (NOS) in line with Company and Awarding Organisation requirements and current TAQA standards.
- Provide constructive feedback and set SMART targets.
- Set indicative gateway timescales based on the outcomes of initial assessment and the setting of achievable learning objectives.
- Support the timely submission and mapping of evidence (VARCS).
- Undertake pre‑EPA training and confirm apprentice readiness for endpoint assessment at gateway.
- Identify apprentices at risk of non‑completion and arrange appropriate interventions.
- Work alongside the monitoring team to proactively engage with all customers and respond to any relevant queries or issues raised by employers, learners or related parties in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster good relationships with external parties assisting with industry events and maximize promotion of JTL’s products and services.
- Maintain CPD in line with Awarding Organisation requirements and current TAQA standards.
Person Specification:
- Advanced Craft Certificate in Plumbing, Plumbing NVQ3 or equivalent.
- Current ACS Gas Qualification or within range for renewal.
- Two years’ relevant plumbing experience within a mechanical services organisation after achieving an appropriate qualification.
- GCSE English & Maths A‑C, 9‑4, NVQ level 2, O’Level A‑D or equivalent.
- Recognised Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely).
- Assessor qualifications (D32, D33, A1 or TAQA).
- G3 Qualification – Unvented Hot Water.
- Water Regulations.
- Energy Efficiency.
