Job Purpose: To provide strategic, operational and executive support to the Managing Director, ensuring the effective coordination and execution of key organisational priorities. The role acts as a central point of coordination across commercial, strategic and operational activity, supporting international business development, strategic planning, governance and executive office activity. The postholder will help ensure that strategic initiatives, customer engagement activities and organisational priorities are effectively progressed, monitored and delivered. The role is intended to enhance organisational effectiveness by enabling the Managing Director to focus on high‑value strategic engagement, leadership and growth activity.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities:
- International & Commercial Support: Support the Managing Director in the development and coordination of strategic customer and stakeholder engagement activity, particularly within international growth markets including the GCC and South East Asia. Undertake research and analysis on prospective customers, partners, sectors and markets to support commercial decision‑making and strategic engagement activity. Prepare high‑quality briefing papers, stakeholder profiles and meeting packs in advance of customer meetings, events and overseas visits. Coordinate and track actions arising from commercial discussions and strategic meetings to ensure effective follow‑up and progression of opportunities. Draft and coordinate professional correspondence, presentations and stakeholder communications on behalf of the Managing Director. Coordinate international travel, itineraries, customer visits, exhibitions, conferences and stakeholder events. Support light‑touch commercial reporting, opportunity tracking and pipeline visibility associated with Managing Director‑led activity. Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration, communication and organisational objectives.
- Strategy & Board Support: Support the preparation and coordination of Board papers, reports, presentations and executive briefing documents. Assist with the development, coordination and monitoring of strategic plans, annual business plans and organisational objectives. Conduct targeted research and analysis to support strategic projects, market development initiatives and organisational decision‑making. Support budget planning, coordinate forecast updates, project tracking and business case preparation associated with strategic initiatives. Coordinate governance documentation, meeting schedules and reporting requirements to support effective organisational oversight. Assist with the preparation of management reports, presentations and supporting information for Board and Senior Management Team meetings.
- Executive Office & Internal Coordination: Coordinate Senior Management Team meetings and ensure actions, decisions and priorities are effectively tracked and progressed. Prepare clear and concise meeting minutes, action logs and progress updates. Act as a central coordination point between CompEx and JTL (group) Finance, HR and other shared services. Coordinate across CompEx SMT to support delivery of organisational priorities. Support the Managing Director in monitoring progress against key projects, business objectives and operational activities. Assist in improving organisational coordination, communication and visibility of strategic priorities across the business. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organisation and administrative effectiveness within executive and management processes. Undertake additional strategic, operational or executive support activities as reasonably required by the Managing Director.
What we’re looking for:
- Essential: Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience. Experience in a business support, executive coordination, project management, commercial support or operational role. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional reports, presentations and correspondence. Strong research, analytical and problem‑solving capability. High level of discretion, professionalism and attention to detail. Commercial awareness and an interest in business growth, stakeholder engagement and strategic development. Highly proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office applications and digital collaboration tools. Ability to work independently, use initiative and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Desirable: Experience supporting senior leaders or executive teams. Experience within a commercial, training, certification, technical or professional services environment. Knowledge of CRM systems, reporting tools or commercial operations. Understanding of governance, Board reporting or business planning processes.
