We are hiring on behalf of a well-established financial services firm based in Manchester, UK, offering tailored accounting, advisory, and investment solutions to both individual and corporate clients.
As their business grows, they are looking to expand their remote team with a skilled Accounting Support Virtual Assistant who can provide accurate, timely, and professional support to their accounting department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter and categorize financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero)
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial statements
- Prepare and issue client invoices; monitor receivables and payables
- Generate financial reports such as P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries
- Assist with VAT returns and other HMRC-related filings (training provided if needed)
- Support monthly and year-end closing activities
- Maintain organized digital financial records and documentation
- Communicate with UK-based accountants, clients, and vendors in a professional manner
- Perform ad hoc administrative and finance-related tasks as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting support
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting tools (Xero, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of basic accounting principles
- Comfortable working in UK time zone or with partial UK hours overlap
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality with sensitive data
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Proficient with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
