The Role We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Buyer to join our procurement team. Working within a fast-paced kitchen and bathroom manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, components, and services to support production, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance. This is a key role that requires strong supplier management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with production, design, logistics, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase materials, components, and finished goods required for kitchen and bathroom manufacturing
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, lead times, and commercial terms
  • Raise and manage purchase orders in line with production schedules and demand forecasts
  • Monitor supplier performance, addressing quality, delivery, and cost issues proactively
  • Work closely with production planning to ensure continuity of supply and minimise shortages
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data, pricing, and supplier records within the ERP system
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by sourcing new components and suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and sustainability requirements

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience sourcing materials/components for kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, or related sectors
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good understanding of supply chain and procurement best practices
  • Confident user of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel

Desirable:

  • Experience within kitchen, bathroom, or joinery manufacturing
  • Knowledge of materials such as boards, worktops, hardware, fittings, or appliances
  • CIPS qualification or working towards (or equivalent experience)
