We are seeking a skilled and motivated Site Engineer to support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring work is carried out safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical & Site Management
- Set out, level, and survey sites
- Interpret technical drawings and ensure work aligns with project specifications
- Assist in planning, sequencing, and coordinating daily site activities
- Monitor site progress and quality, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly
- Support the Site Manager and Project Engineer with day-to-day operations
- Quality Assurance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate site records including as‑builts, check sheets, and inspection reports
- Ensure work complies with design, quality standards, and contract requirements
- Conduct and document quality checks in line with the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP)
- Health, Safety & Environment
- Promote and uphold a strong health and safety culture on site
- Ensure all activities comply with H&S regulations, RAMS, and company policies
- Report incidents, near‑misses, and potential hazards
- Stakeholder Communication
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and the wider project team
- Communicate technical information clearly to site teams
- Attend progress meetings and contribute to problem‑solving discussions
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience working on civil engineering or construction projects
- Strong understanding of site engineering techniques and surveying equipment
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality
Desirable:
- CSCS card
- Experience using AutoCAD and site management software
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- Full UK driving licence
