We are working in partnership with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of major infrastructure projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work across sectors including highways, structures, utilities and major civil frameworks.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for key work packages or projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with project teams, clients and supply chain partners to ensure commercial performance, cost control and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of civil engineering projects or packages
- Preparation and management of budgets, forecasts and cost reports
- Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors
- Valuations, variations, change control and final accounts
- Contract administration (NEC / JCT as applicable)
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
- Liaising with clients, project managers and operational teams
- Ensuring commercial risk is identified, managed and mitigated
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil engineering contractor
- Strong background in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Sound knowledge of NEC contracts (essential)
- Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Chartered or working towards MRICS / MCICES (desirable)
