A leader in advanced street lighting controls, power distribution, and electric vehicle (EV) supply solutions, this company provides essential infrastructure solutions for urban and highway environments. Their products include photocells, power distribution enclosures, EV connection feeders, isolators, cut-outs, and switchgear.
As a Systems Test Engineer, you will work closely with the Technology Team to ensure that designs meet specifications and certification requirements, derived from market research, for new products. You will be responsible for testing hardware, firmware functionality, and physical product hardware to ensure they meet specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, document, and execute test plans for electronics hardware, firmware, and product enclosures.
- Identify, report, and track defects and issues through the development process.
- Ensure product compliance with certification standards and specifications.
- Provide test plan records for future reviews and product validation.
- Collaborate with Process Engineering on production validation and test methods.
- Act as the voice of approval for all product stage gates and reviews.
- Contribute to project requirements and ensure products are released on time and fit for market.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Systems/Product Test in high-tech or connected devices environments (lighting industry preferred).
- Relevant qualifications (ISTQB, Electronics/Electrical/Software).
- Experience in embedded C and other coding methodologies.
- Familiar with the full firmware development lifecycle and system testing.
- Ability to translate project requirements into technical test specifications.
- Experience with test automation and implementation of test plans.
- Familiarity with functional programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C++, etc.).
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent report writing skills.
- Able to express concerns clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong communication skills to ensure product requirements are met.
