About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Software Products to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead the expansion of our software business. This is a global role with responsibility for business growth, innovation, and operational delivery across our software product portfolio. Please note: We are really looking for someone who has engineering/water sector experience. This position extends beyond software development and business development—it requires end-to-end leadership of our software business, including managing profit and loss. The successful candidate will drive the commercial growth of our software products, aiming to double the size of the business within three years. The role is based at our headquarters in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, with opportunities for hybrid working. However, extensive travel will be required to ensure strategic alignment and operational success across our international teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Growth & Strategy
- Develop and execute a growth strategy to expand the software business globally.
- Oversee profit and loss (P&L) management, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Identify market opportunities and drive product innovation aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
- Develop and implement a five-year strategic plan for the software division.
- Sales & Business Development
- Lead and manage an international sales team and reseller networks to drive revenue growth.
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to maximize market penetration.
- Establish and nurture key customer and partner relationships to support business expansion.
- Software Development & Delivery
- Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality software products.
- Ensure agile and efficient software development practices are in place.
- Stay ahead of emerging software technologies and market trends.
- Operational Management
- Lead and develop cross-functional software teams in the UK and internationally.
- Drive operational efficiency to enhance productivity and scalability.

About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Business, Engineering, or Science (or equivalent senior-level experience).
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing software sales and development costs.
- Proven experience in software sales and commercial management.
- Experience leading international sales teams and reseller networks.
- Track record of managing commercially focused internal software sales teams.
- Strong people management skills with experience in leading and developing teams.
