Position: Power Scheduler Location: United Kingdom Salary: Mid £50’s + shift allowance of circa £9K Position Purpose: Power Schedulers act as the interface between short-term power traders and Grid Operators. They ensure that physical positions align with the trader’s strategy in the European markets, mitigating any risk of value loss. Main Responsibilities: * Manage short-term physical electricity positions across European markets. * Submit bids/requests for the purchase of export/import transmission rights. * Nominate positions within countries with trading counterparts. * Nominate border flows to the respective grids. * Ensure trading desk activities are accurately represented in scheduling systems. * Understand and comply with Grid Operator requirements regarding nomination formats and deadlines. * Respond quickly to updates from Grid Operators to minimize costly imbalances. * Provide training to new schedulers as needed. * Take on additional tasks as assigned by the manager. Experience & Technical Requirements: * Graduate qualification in an analytical discipline (finance, science, engineering, maths). * Strong quantitative and analytical skills. * Some experience in Scheduling or as an operator in the Energy market (preferred). * Fluency in English and at least one other European language (French or German preferred). * Experience with VBA or other programming skills is useful.
