Our public sector client is currently looking to recruit Roofer on a temp basis until 30.01.26 initially Purpose of Role: To carry out quality, customer focused ground works, general building, external wet trades along with associated minor repair work to properties and other buildings. Key Activities * Undertakes a range of repairs & maintenance tasks (an example task list shown as an annex to the job description) to the agreed quality and performance standards * Liaises with service customers before, during and after repair & refurbishment work, to ensure the least possible inconvenience, including agreeing suitable appointments * Undertakes assessments of repairs and maintenance work required and take appropriate action to * Works with colleagues and others to resolves or notify of issues arising e.g. regarding outstanding repairs, rechargeable items, breaches of tenancy conditions, safeguarding * Directs and supervises apprentices and other assigned trainees * Cleans and tidies following repairs & refurbishment work * Determines and arranges appropriate and value for money resources required to complete repairs & maintenance and remove any waste * Carry out other miscellaneous duties associated with the role Experience * Demonstrable experience of completing general building work (e.g.,tasks as listed in annex) * Experience of working with and dealing with customers and/or members of the public * Full valid driving licence * High level of communication and listening skills sufficient to deal with customers either face to face or on the telephone * Able to process information in written form including completion of necessary work documentation * Able to trace, diagnose and rectify faults and identify and specify material & equipment requirements * Able to use ICT systems such as MS Word and emails. * Tactful and diplomatic when dealing with demanding or abusive complaints from customers * Self-motivated, organised, able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet agreed timescales & targets. * Able to work cooperatively and flexibly with others to achieve the service objectives * Sufficient level of physically fitness to carry out the requirements of the role (including climbing ladders and lifting heavy objects). * Committed to making a difference and looks for ways to improve and enhance outcomes for the benefit of customers and the service £15.08 - £16.36ph
