Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Pattern Maker / Designer to join their busy knitwear design team in Barwell. This role is predominantly pattern-focused, with a small design element. No previous industry experience is required as full training will be provided. However, you must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Photoshop, be confident using digital systems, and able to work accurately to detailed briefs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a career within knitwear design and pattern development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating product designs from customer briefs, working within provided requirements and brand guidelines
  • Translating approved designs into knit patterns (full training provided)
  • Reviewing patterns produced by other team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality standards
  • Designing product labels
  • Creating product stickers and preparing artwork as print-ready files
  • Supporting the wider design team with day-to-day tasks
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet tight deadlines
  • Maintaining well-organised, consistent, and production-ready digital files
What We’re Looking For
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (essential)
  • Proficiency in Photoshop (essential)
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence working with digital systems and file management
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • A reliable, proactive team player with a willingness to learn
  • A passion or interest in football is a bonus, but not essential.
  • This role may particularly suit someone with a fashion, textiles, or garment background — though this is not required.
