Our public sector client are looking for a Finance Assistant to join them on a temporary basis. If you are interested in applying for this job, please make sure you meet the following requirements as listed below.
Location – Hybrid working, with ideally 1-2 days in the office in Coalville.
Purpose of the Role
To provide effective administrative and financial support to the Finance Team, contributing to the efficient delivery of financial services across the organisation.
Core Responsibilities
- Processing and monitoring the progress of insurance claims on behalf of the organisation.
- Providing support across all aspects of Finance Team duties, including:
- Data analysis and research support
- Accurate data input and maintenance of financial records
- Assisting with the production of budget monitoring reports and statistical returns
- Supporting the development of the annual budget
- Assisting with end-of-year financial close-down activities
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of the annual budget book.
- Collection and opening of post
- Filing, photocopying, and printing
- Stationery requisitions and ordering office consumables
- Room bookings and travel arrangements
Additional Responsibilities
- Carry out all duties efficiently and effectively.
- Always view the service through the eyes of the customer and make suggestions for improvement where appropriate.
- Continuously challenge personal performance and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Help build pride, passion, and a positive reputation for NWLDC.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the grading of the post, as required by the Team Manager.
- Participate in the Council’s appraisal scheme and undertake any necessary training and development relevant to the role.
- Assist in the event of a civil emergency in any way as instructed.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working is available, with an expectation of ideally 1–2 days per week in the office, based in Coalville.
- Flexible working hours are available, subject to service needs.
- All ICT equipment will be provided to support both office-based and remote working.
