Our public sector client are looking for an Exchequer Services Assistant to join them on a temporary basis.
Location - Coalville, Leicestershire
Flexible, hybrid working available. Ideally 1-2 days in the office per week (Coalville).
Pay Rate - £13.29ph to £13.74ph
Job Purpose
To support the Exchequer Section in income collection, payments, payroll processing, and reconciliation services.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all income is accurately recorded, allocated, and reconciled.
- Assist with monthly reconciliations, including bank accounts, payroll, creditors, debtors, and control accounts.
- Support payroll preparation and monthly data input.
- Assist with the administration of sundry debtors and the e-purchasing system.
- Respond to internal and external queries relating to Exchequer Services.
- Provide cover and support during busy periods or staff absences.
- Participate in performance appraisal and development processes.
- Undertake additional duties and support other teams as required by management.
Experience Required
- Around 2 years' experience in a payments, income, or financial administration environment.
- Essential experience in bank reconciliations and effective accounting reconciliations.
- Experience using financial systems.
- Experience processing supplier payments and reconciling high volumes of income.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (or equivalent).
