Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career while gaining hands-on experience across multiple areas of finance, including bookkeeping, payroll, management accounts, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, including processing invoices, receipts, and financial transactions
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Process and support the administration of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Monitor project financial performance, tracking costs, budgets, and profitability
- Produce detailed sales analysis reports to support business decision-making
- Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Support senior accountants and management with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting
Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or currently studying towards a professional qualification (e.g., AAT / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or finance-related roles
- Experience with payroll processing
- Familiarity with financial reporting and management accounts
- Understanding of project cost tracking and sales analysis
