Job Summary:
We’re looking for a qualified and reliable HGV Driver to transport waste from Leicestershire County Council’s Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) to disposal facilities using hook loader vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely collect and transport waste using HGV hook loaders
- Complete daily job schedules efficiently and accurately
- Carry out vehicle checks and report defects
- Maintain clean and fuelled vehicles
- Wear uniform and PPE at all times
- Communicate professionally with site staff and the public
- Follow instructions from Transport Supervisor and Fleet Manager
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid HGV licence
- Driver CPC
- Loading shovel ticket (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with HGVs and waste haulage preferred
- Familiarity with hook loaders and easy-sheet systems
Skills Required:
- Team player with good communication skills
