Will be covering the Somerset area, so a driving licence is essential

Must pass Full enhanced DBS check
40hrs Per week Monday Friday, Some Weekend Work may be required and on occasion out of hours work.
Some time will involve time spent away from home from Monday to Friday
Suitable candidate would need to have the below skills;

  • Organisational skills
  • Hard working, competent and reliable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Be literate with I.T (Microsoft Office)
  • Have access to a Laptop/tablet/computer once a week to download report
  • Willing to work in different environments
  • Comply with current uniform standards, ensuring the company uniform is always worn correctly


Key Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will carry out Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice.
  • Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies.
  • Manage appliance testing in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, to customers requirements, whilst limiting the disruption to their business. Lots of sites consist of Schools, Hospitals, Hotels and Universities.
  • The engineer must have an acceptable knowledge of Microsoft Office and have access to emails, as part of their job (once a week) requires the successful process of the downloading procedure (weekly results) being completed and sent to the PAT team at Head Office.
  • Job schedules will be arranged by the PAT Team at Head Office however, the Engineer must be able to manage their own time efficiently and successfully.
  • Maintain an acceptable time keeping track record, ensure that start & finish times are adhered to, as directed by the PAT Manager.
  • Identify, prevent, or pre-empt any potential areas for customer dissatisfaction, for example, arriving late due to traffic. Good route preparation and forward planning is vital.
