Overview
My client is currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Turner on a temp to perm basis due to increased workload.
This is for mainly turning with milling desirable.
You will be required to work on one-offs and small batch work.
The role will involve manufacturing parts from scratch, inspecting your own work, so you must be able to read engineering drawings and use hand measuring equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines with a focus on turning (milling experience desirable).
- Manufacture parts from scratch on one-offs and small batches.
- Inspect your own work and read engineering drawings; use hand measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Qualifications / Key criteria
- Proven previous experience of working within a fast paced precision engineering environment.
- Substantial, strong mechanical engineering background.
- Online programming (Mazatrol desirable; training can be provided for the right candidate).
- Sound experience of working on CNC machines.
- Ability to create quality work to tight tolerances.
- Ideally a recognised engineering qualification – preferably an Apprenticeship.
- Ability to work in both metric and imperial measurements.
