Are you available for an immediate start? We are looking for reliable and experienced school cleaners who will form an important part of the existing school cleaning team and ensure high standards of cleaning are maintained across classrooms and communal areas.

The role covers multiple school locations throughout the borough and will require an Enhanced DBS check due to the nature of the location in which the candidate will be working. The candidate will be given an induction on their first day which will include a tour of location and chemical guidance/storage rules. The shifts will vary between mornings (6am – 8.30am) and afternoons into evenings (3.30 – 5.30pm). The role will be Monday to Friday during term time, but there may be a requirement for additional shifts to be picked up during School Holidays which will be discussed weeks in advance before term ends.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks in designated areas, including offices, restrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces.
  • Ensure all surfaces are dusted, wiped down, and sanitised to meet health and safety standards.
  • Vacuum, mop, and sweep floors to maintain cleanliness throughout the premises.
  • Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to guidelines.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects as required.
Experience
  • Previous experience in cleaning is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A proactive attitude towards health and safety practices in the workplace.
