Join a market leader in high-voltage substation protection and control equipment design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning. As Junior Lead Design Engineer (Electrical), you'll drive electrical design for customer orders—including protection/control panels—leading drawing production and supporting senior engineers in our expertise-rich team. Full training and apprenticeships provided.
Key Responsibilities- Lead creation of As Manufactured Drawings from specifications: General Arrangements, Equipment Schedules, Wiring Diagrams, Schematics, and substation protection layouts
- Produce Work Orders and update Drawing Registers for seamless Production issue
- Assemble Drawing packs and conduct initial Wiring Diagram Checks (e.g., CT/VT, IEC 61850 schemes)
- Support Lead Electrical Engineers with design reviews, panel layouts, and commissioning prep
- Collaborate with shop floor on control panel assembly and testing processes
- Handle drawing administration and contribute to design process improvements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Quick learner with strong attention to detail
- Deadline-driven with excellent time management
- Experience in manufacturing/utilities, especially substations or power protection
- AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent CAD proficiency
- Knowledge of wiring standards, protection relays, or control systems
- Flexible working and early Friday finishes
