Quality Controller role focused on safeguarding food safety and quality, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures, and supporting production and quality teams to prevent sub-standard ingredients and unsafe products leaving site.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct duties in a manner that safeguards your own safety and the safety of others.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company procedures for Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene.
  • Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conduct visual and measurement tests; communicate required adjustments to the Quality Supervisor and/or Production Supervisor.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conduct visual and measurement tests; return products for re-work; confirm re-work.
  • Complete paperwork and records of checks carried out, including weight checks, temperature checks, label checks, metal detection, and checkweigher checks where required.
  • Communicate Internal and Supplier Non-Conformances through Daily Quality Reports.
  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and highlighting repair needs.
  • Support the production team and ensure prevention of use of sub-standard ingredients and the prevention of poor quality or potentially unsafe products leaving site.
  • Support the NPD and Production teams during production trials.
  • Report issues to the Quality Manager/Supervisor that may compromise food safety, food legality or product quality.
  • Carry out any other reasonable working instruction from the Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager and Technical Manager.

  • IT literate.
  • Experience working within a Quality Department within a food industry.
