We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Night Shift Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining, repairing, and improving mechanical systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working during critical night hours, you will help ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production operations.,
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and production machinery.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
- Deliver mechanical project work, including upgrades, installations, and system improvements.
- Support the integration of new machinery and mechanical systems.
- Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure reliable performance.
- Undertake welding and fabrication tasks (MMA & MIG) when required.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support night shift operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and project work.
- Qualified mechanical engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy engineering environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (MMA & MIG), conveyors, or sawmill/woodworking machinery (desirable).
- Ability to work independently and proactively during night shifts.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures and compliance.
- Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious attitude.
- Competitive salary: Β£35,591 - Β£42,985 per year.
