About the Role
This position involves becoming a key member of the production team, working closely with Technicians, Project Managers, and Engineers. The role is flexible and will adapt to the team's needs. Some weeks may focus on project builds in-house, while others may focus on improving workshop efficiency and production processes.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical assembly, quality testing, and installation of industrial automation and sorting systems
- Electrical assembly and quality testing in both workshop and on-site environments
- Development, assembly, and testing of subassemblies used across product lines
- Maintaining component traceability and ensuring high quality standards
- Troubleshooting and resolving assembly issues to maintain production schedules while feeding improvements back into processes
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop and production environment
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a hands-on technician role within an industrial engineering environment
- Strong aptitude for power and control wiring
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and identify errors or oversights
- Familiarity with electrical standards such as BS 7671 and EN/IEC 60204
- Strong problem-solving skills for engineering challenges
- Ability to interpret engineering information in multiple formats, including assembly instructions, 2D drawings, and 3D CAD assemblies
- Experience routing and terminating pneumatic lines, wiring/cabling, and electrical conduit
- Confidence using workshop and power tools with a strong understanding of safe working practices
- High attention to detail and the ability to follow, develop, and improve processes
- Comfortable working in a growing environment with evolving processes and designs
- Willingness to occasionally work weekends (with time off in lieu)
- Located within commuting distance of Stratford, London, and available to work onsite five days per week
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
