An exciting senior leadership opportunity for a commercially driven finance professional to help shape and influence strategic performance. As Head of Business Finance, you will act as a key member of the Finance Leadership Team and a trusted partner to the wider business. You'll lead a high-performing Business Finance function, drive growth through financial insight, and champion a culture of value creation and performance excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Partnering
    • Lead the Business Finance team and embed a strong business partnering culture.
    • Partner with business unit (BU) leaders, providing financial insight and strategic guidance.
    • Deliver accurate financial planning across budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
    • Enhance financial capability across business units.
    • Lead monthly Business Performance Review (BPR) meetings.
    • Translate business strategy into actionable financial plans.
    • Lead the tracking and analysis of performance, revenue, cost, and profitability.
    • Deliver business case analysis and commercial decision support.
    • Maintain and improve the quality and relevance of KPIs.
  • Investment & Commercial Support
    • Assess the financial viability of investment proposals and business cases.
    • Collaborate with BUs and FP&A to ensure alignment with strategy.
    • Develop robust models to support investment and business decisions.
  • Reporting & Insight
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financials and KPIs.
    • Produce and continuously improve BPR packs with actionable insights.
    • Evolve reporting methods to drive performance-focused conversations.
    • Present clear, concise financial reports to senior stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as a strategic advisor to the CFO, leadership, and BU heads.
    • Align with FP&A and Controlling teams on budget and forecast cycles.
    • Support non-finance leaders in managing budgets and making data-driven decisions.
    • Communicate financial insights effectively at all levels.
  • Process & Systems Improvement
    • Lead process optimisation initiatives across reporting and forecasting.
    • Implement tools to enhance financial analytics and automation.
    • Front-load financial processes to drive year-round value creation.
    • Apply best practices and innovative approaches in finance.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing Business Finance team.
  • Set clear goals, conduct regular 1:1s, and foster a collaborative team culture.
  • Promote continuous learning, accountability, and excellence in delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years in senior commercial finance.
  • Strong experience influencing senior and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Commercial mindset with a growth orientation.
  • ERP knowledge (e.g. SAP, NetSuite, Sage Intacct).
  • Familiarity with FP&A tools (e.g. Anaplan, Adaptive Insights).
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
  • Background in food/agriculture industries.
