Finance Manager - Stevenage, Hertfordshire

JSS are pleased to be exclusively supporting our client based in Stevenage on the recruitment of a new Finance Manager role.

This is an ideal for someone newly qualified or finalist level: ACCA or ACA. trained in industry or in a audit practice firm.

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the organisation's cash management, banking, balance sheet integrity, financial accounting and cash flow forecasting activities.

The role ensures robust financial control, effective liquidity management and accurate financial reporting, while supporting strategic decision-making through high-quality financial analysis and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Group's daily cash position, liquidity requirements and working capital.
  • Oversee all banking activities, including payment approvals, bank mandates, account administration and banking relationships.
  • Ensure effective controls are maintained over cash receipts, payments and treasury transactions.
  • Monitor and optimise cash balances across multiple entities and bank accounts.
  • Develop and maintain cash and banking; treasury and foreign currency, controls and reporting.
  • Manage relationships with banking partners and external financial institutions.
  • Own the short, medium and long-term cash flow forecasting process.
  • Produce weekly, monthly and rolling 13-week cash flow forecasts.
  • Maintain ownership of balance sheet integrity across all entities.
  • Drive improvements in reconciliation processes and financial controls.
  • Review key balance sheet accounts and investigate unusual movements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks and audit requirements.
  • Prepare treasury, cash flow and balance sheet reporting for senior management.
  • Deliver insightful analysis on liquidity, working capital and financial performance.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) or Finalist
  • Financial accounting and balance sheet control experience.
  • Ideally treasury, cash management and banking experience.
  • Experience producing and managing cash flow forecasts.
  • Understanding of UK GAAP and financial reporting.
