About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of People / People Director to play a key role in shaping and delivering the people strategy across a complex, multi-country business environment. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, providing expert guidance across employee relations, organisational change, talent planning, culture, engagement, and leadership development.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior business leaders to translate business strategy into practical people plans and initiatives.
- Ensure people priorities are aligned with organisational goals, operating models, and broader regional people strategies.
- Lead organisational change, transformation, and restructuring initiatives, ensuring effective communication and employee engagement throughout.
- Manage relationships with employee representative bodies, including works councils, trade unions, and other employee forums where applicable.
- Develop and implement initiatives that strengthen organisational culture and employee experience.
- Partner with leaders to assess and enhance engagement, collaboration, and organisational effectiveness.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
- Provide expert guidance on people policies, employment practices, employee relations matters, and regulatory requirements.
Role profile
You will be an experienced HR professional with a strong track record of partnering with senior leaders in complex, international organisations. Experience working within matrix organisations and managing multiple stakeholder groups. Must have prior experience within the Logistics / Facilities / Manufacturing / Industrial sectors. Proven team leadership (management of a team of at least 5 employees, ideally within multiple regions). Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR practices across multiple countries. Experience working with trade unions, works councils, or employee representative bodies. Demonstrated success leading organisational change, transformation, and restructuring programmes. Proven ability to influence and coach senior leaders. Experience leading and developing teams within a fast-paced environment.
