The organisation manages capital across a broad range of alternative asset strategies, including private markets and liquid products, and partners with institutional and private investors worldwide.
Role Overview
The organisation is seeking a Senior Fund Controller to join its EMEA Fund Finance function, supporting a portfolio of European-domiciled funds across multiple asset classes. Based in London, this role will operate as a senior member of the regional finance leadership team and report directly to the Managing Director responsible for EMEA Fund Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior point of contact for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including global finance teams, tax, treasury, accounting policy, product teams, and investor-facing functions.
- Oversee fund accounting and administration activities, including ownership of the monthly NAV process and review of complex transactions such as subscriptions and redemptions, distributions, carried interest and management fee calculations, NAV allocations, liquidity forecasting, and corporate-level expenses.
- Provide technical accounting oversight, ensuring accurate interpretation and application of relevant accounting standards for complex fund structures and transactions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members, with responsibility for effective resource planning and workload distribution across EMEA and offshore teams.
- Partner closely with global finance colleagues and key control functions (including Legal, Compliance, Tax, and Technology) to drive consistency, best practice, and scalable operating models.
- Produce high-quality financial analysis and FP&A insights, delivering clear, decision-oriented reporting to senior leadership and governance committees.
- Manage audit and tax processes, maintaining strong working relationships with external auditors and tax advisers to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
Candidate Profile:
- ACA qualified with a minimum of 7 years’ post‑qualification experience.
- Background in private markets, credit funds, and/or asset management strongly preferred.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, with deep knowledge of IFRS.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, with a collaborative and solutions-driven management style.
- Advanced financial analysis skills, including strong Excel and PowerPoint capability.
- Credible and effective communicator, able to build trust with senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
