JSS are delighted to be partnering with our client who are based in Nottinghamshire on the recruitment of a fantastic new Head of Finance role. The role requires experience within engineering infrastructure projects, i.e. working for national/international engineering contractors and will involve some travel to various sites.
As a member of the Leadership Team, the Head of Finance will support the Finance Director and the wider Leadership Team in all aspects of the financial management of the business. The Head of Finance role is a senior leadership role with genuine scope to shape and improve a complex, operationally critical part of a large Infrastructure services business. This role offers great exposure to Group Finance and senior divisional leadership, providing breadth, visibility, and future career progression within a growing organisation.
The Head of Finance Role:
- Playing a leading role in stabilising and improving financial performance in a complex and evolving portfolio, driving recovery plans where performance is below expectations.
- Leading the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across the Energy Substation & Renewable Connection Division.
- Actively collaborate with other Energy Infrastructure finance leaders to align ways of working, reporting standards, and governance.
- Providing strategic financial insight to support business growth, investment decisions, and operational efficiency.
- Providing financial leadership and support for bids and tenders, ensuring robust pricing models, risk assessment, and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Owning the financial element of divisional 5-year business plans, supported by key drivers and market trends.
- Establishing and embedding best-in-class construction finance disciplines, ensuring high-quality CVRs, credible forecasts, and clear visibility of risks and opportunities.
- Acting as a key business partner to operational and commercial teams, influencing strategic decisions.
- Leading monthly trading reviews, providing insightful commentary and analysis of financial performance.
- Driving margin improvement initiatives and cost optimisation across contracts.
Profile:
- ACA, CIMA, ACCA qualified.
- Essential to have worked on large engineering projects in infrastructure construction.
- Must have leadership experience and great stakeholder management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast growth, fast-paced environment.
On Offer:
- Salary circa £90-100k plus £6k car allowance, bonus and hybrid working.
- Must be able to travel to various UK locations.
