The Role
We are seeking a high-calibre Head of Group Reporting to lead our central finance function. You will serve as a technical accounting lead for a high-growth FTSE-listed group, ensuring world-class financial reporting while partnering on strategic corporate projects.
Managing a team of four, you will be the guardian of the Group’s financial integrity, overseeing everything from monthly consolidations to the production of the Annual Report. This is a high-visibility role reporting into the Group FC with significant exposure to the CFO and Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Group Financial Reporting: Lead the end-to-end delivery of monthly, half-year, and full-year consolidated financial statements under IFRS.
- Statutory Accounts: Ownership of all subsidiary statutory accounts and ensuring compliance with UK listing requirements.
- M&A & Strategy: Act as the finance lead for M&A activity, including due diligence, purchase price allocation (PPA), and post-acquisition integration.
- Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of four qualified and part-qualified accountants.
- Technical Excellence: Provide expert advice on complex accounting treatments and lead the implementation of new IFRS standards across the group.
- Process Transformation: Continuously improve the group consolidation process and internal control framework (UK SOX readiness).
Your Profile
- Qualified Accountant: ACA qualified (likely Big 4 trained) with a minimum of 5 years+ Post-Qualified Experience (PQE).
- PLC/PE Background: Proven experience within a group or central finance function of a FTSE-listed business or a large, fast-paced Private Equity-backed multinational.
- Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of IFRS and experience producing complex Annual Reports and Accounts.
- Strategic Mindset: Previous exposure to M&A, group reorganisations, or complex corporate transactions.
- Leadership: A natural leader with a track record of managing and upskilling finance professionals.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in an evolving, high-growth environment with tight reporting deadlines.
